An antenuptial contract (ANC) is a legally binding agreement signed before marriage that determines how assets and liabilities will be handled between spouses. It ensures that the marriage is out of community of property, meaning each spouse retains control over their own assets and debts. There are two types: without accrual, where assets remain separate, and with accrual, where assets accumulated during the marriage are shared upon dissolution.
